By Paul Hodgson – Chief Communications Officer
Look for an immediate change in my byline to the role of Managing Director and Chief Communications Officer, or rather just Chief Communications Officer. The message remains the same.
Governance matters more now than it ever has, and with the global expansion of our data collection, the expansion into the E and the S and the A (the environmental, the social, and the accounting), GovernanceMetrics’ expanded ratings, expanded opinions and expanded coverage makes the need to communicate this message that much more urgent and that much more exciting.
That’s not to say I will be the only person with an outward facing, well, face. Richard Bennett, our Executive Chairman; Jack Zwingli, our CEO; Ric Marshall, Howard Sherman, John Jarrett and Kimberly Gladman, our directors of research; Beth Young, our senior spokesperson on takeover defenses and shareholder voting (and the list goes on) will continue to play prominent roles in speaking to clients, the press and to academics about our business and our passion. And, as I blogged recently, our Founders’ Forum is building into a perfect mouthpiece for the one-step-back brainpower behind the organization. Besides, it would be annoying to only listen to a Brit expounding all the time about these matters, however endearing the accent.
